When you dive into the research, you discover something interesting.
Athletes who compete in team sports over individual sports are:
1.Happier
2.Less anxious
3.More likely to stick to their training plan
This is all well and good, but triathlon is very much a solo sport.
Okay, you can join a local club.
This is something we’re big on, and advise all our athletes to look into.
If there’s a tri club near you -- even if it’s a small one -- it’s well worth investigating.
Even if you can only get there once a week or once a month, being around others can be a welcome break from the monotony of training solo.
Similarly, you could look at pairing up with another local athlete if there’s no official club.
But then that can be tricky as well.
Coordinating schedules…
Knowing where to look for someone…
And making sure you’re both at a similar level.
So again, it’s great to do this on paper, not so easy in practice.
That’s where being in an online group comes in.
When athletes get together online, they get all the same benefits of training in an in-person group, but without the hassle of the logistics.
And it’s a big reason why so many triathletes join (and stay with) The Brownlee Fitness Squad.
Our Squad isn’t just about getting a program.
It’s not even about having top-tier coaching.
It’s about really feeling part of something, and being able to get support from others.
In fact, many athletes come for the programming, and stay for the community.
There are lots of apps, programs and coaches out there who can write you a training plan.
And plenty of online communities for triathletes as well.
But no others that provide the same standard of coaching and such a tight knit, supportive community.
So if you’d like to see what our Squad is about for yourself, you can click here to take us for a test drive.
With a thriving, buzzing community, Olympic level coaches, and no minimum commitment, there’s no better place to raise your performance and find your triathlon family.
